The series of activities designed to enhance the level of a customer's expectations or satisfaction in a product or service is "customer service". Customer service can encompass face-to-face interactions, phone conversations, faceless (ex. Internet) exchanges, and more. Any time an interaction takes place between a business and an existing or potential customer can be classified as customer service.

Every organization should strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.

Customer trust may take months or years to build, but only one faulty interaction to destroy. Customers have long memories. If their experience with your product or service are positive, they will likely return for more business. However, if their experience is negative, they will likely not return-and they may tell others of their experience thus compounding the impact.
